Attn: Per. 5 & 1: History of Slavery Project- Due Date Extended to 09/29/09

I went over this in class with period 1, but did not get a chance to with period 5. I need BOTH periods to please read below and complete the project by Tuesday, 09/29/09. Any questions should be posted to the blog. Thank you all for your cooperation in advance.

* Through internet research, create a timeline of slavery throughout history. Then create a journal that describes the differing forms and locations of those versions of slavery. The journal must incorporate the timeline, chapter key terms and concepts.

This is a project, treat this assignment like one! Put effort and creativity into it. You may use pictures, maps, etc., I am looking forward to seeing what you all create ;)

  1. Mrs. borges when you say history do you mean ALL of human history, like also back in anceint times, or just the US History of slavery?

And I dont understand the journal to well? Do we make a booklet describing each section we put on the timeline?

And as for the chapter keys and concepts, are we suppose do define them, or incorporate them into the little journal entries?

  2. Jonathan: Yes, all of history. I am primarily concerned with the progression of it and it leading up to the U.S. and then being abolished.

The journal is a description of the timeline. You need to describe where and what type of slavery took place. What groups of people were affected, etc. The chapter key terms and concepts should be part of your descriptions when you get to slavery in the colonies. Hope this answered your questions.

  4. Hey Mrs. Borges,
I don't know if you wlill get this on time before tuesday, but I'm going to try anyway lol.

For the journals, are we supposed to write one for each date that we put in our timeline or are we supposed to write just one in general about the whole entire timeline that we created?

    Thanks! :)
